Weekend Round Up

Many exciting sporting events covered our television sets this weekend. The UNC Tarheels were Victorious against the NC State Wolfpack defeating them 82-69. The lead went back and forth all game but North Carolina pulled away with a 13-0 run in the last 2 minutes. Roy Williams is 5-0 against the Wolfpack. Tarheel freshman phenom, Tyler Hansbrough, was voted the ACC Rookie of the Week because of his 43 point-12 rebound game against Davidson and NC State. Against State Hansbrough went an impressive 14-14 from the line. Calls to NC State Alumnus, Bernard Joseph Meier-Bennett, regarding the game have not been returned. Ryan Reynolds has not been located for comments. The Tarheels take on the Choakies tonight at 7:30 PM; NC State travels to Boston College @ 9:00 PM

On that note it was reported that Reynolds would publish a weekly article but he appears to be M.I.A. If you happen to have any details into the disappearance of Reynolds please contact your local elder. At the present moment we can only fear the worst has happened: Laura Jolley, heading back from Africa, has kidnapped the poor child. Laura has been known to take advantage of Reynolds' tiny frame so we can only pray for his safe return.

The Carolina Panthers posted an impressive shut out against Eli Manning and the Giants. The defense brought out the big guns for this game forcing 4 turnovers after taking a 10-0 lead in the first half. They take on the Chi-town Bears at 4:30PM this Sunday. The Panthers were embarrassed by the Bears earlier in the season so they will be looking for revenge. Due to the MLK, Jr holiday the Davie St household will be watching the game then participating in celebratory or drowning our sorrows drinks that evening. Grossman may or may not be included depending on his alliance this weekend. If he chooses to go against our advice and cheer for the Bears then Booo!! this man when you see him.

I would also like to welcome anyone in the RDU area to come hang out this weekend for a little dice game and a new mystery game provided by Kerry King. For those that can make it, there will be a late night dice game (FINALLY! i know!) at 314A Davie St in Carrboro (Home to the future Ms. Bennett-Meier and Kerry). Drinks and food will be provided! Grossman will entertain everyone with some piano tunes.

Rule #76: No excuses. Play like a champion!

I'd have to say I've been enjoying stalking this website and reading the insightful articles written by Brian Kubis... may I say where's the competition from Ryan Reynolds as he hyped me up for some weekly Ye Olde articles. We've seen none and it is now Jan. 10. Yay for Kubis not having anything better to do. :)

I am going to go out on a limb and say that Ryan Reynold's articles are about as overhyped as the N.C. State Athletic department. Our football team did make a bowl game thanks to East Tennessee State and the ACC for letting in a ridiculous number of teams this year. I am sure we will choke in the clutch of basketball season.
