Bad News on Drunk Uncle Bob.

Bad News folks...Drunk Uncle Bob will not be attending the celebration of March 4th. I'm sad to report that he has been in the hospital the past week couple of weeks with substantial injurines during a Quail hunting accident. Please send flowers and airplane bottles to:

Your friendly Ye Olde Elders present.......

A CELEBRATION THE 4th of MARCH!!!! Details are still being worked out and we don't want to let the cat out of the bag about all the excellent things we have planned for this fiesta. Remember these are your friendly Ye Olde Elders putting on this bash.

Reasons to celebrate:

  1. Daniel Vaughts 21st Birthday (give or take 5 years)
  2. Colten Marbles 23rd Year of Life (Bong off Champion)
  3. Adam Parks 23rd Year of Life (Shot off Champion) Who will be this years champion???
  4. Welcome Home BJ, its been a while (as I am sure Brooke and her ______ can attest)
  5. and last but not least the Mi So horny fiesta for Todd "Shaggy" Olson and Eric Hoffman. These two will be venturing off to the land of Chinamen on March 6 so we want to wish them a bon voyage with a hangover to last the entire 18 hour trip.
  6. Also we no longer get a spring break so we have to pack 7 days worth of fun (i.e. AP's lake house (only a day and a half), Ryans beach house, Costa Rica, Panama City and the Carribean) into one extraordinary evening.

I know you will agree with me that these are great causes to have a celebration. So everyone put on your party pants and get ready to be wined and not-so-dined but still a good time with great friends. And of course come out to support your local Elders. Something for you to think about: What kind of delicious drinks will be served this time? What will be the creative decorating theme for this celebration? Will we have gifts? Will there be a raffle? What kind of outfits will everyone be sporting? Which lucky lady/ladies will be Adam Parks' date(s)? Will the 5-0 come roast marshmellows with us again? Will Drunk Uncle Bob be able to sneak out of his AA meeting to come drink with us???

March 4th...

Let's get some info about the March 4th THROWDOWN up here. I know we're celebrating, but people need to know when, where, why and how.

If we need anything in particular, let me know. I'm here to help....

UNC vs NC State

Years and years of battling each other in countless sporting events has let to the greatest rivalry in college sports - UNC/Duke (needless to say the 8 miles between them creates a little friction). However, the red-headed step child known as N.C. State has reared its head into the picture again trying to create a rivalry of their own. A few years back we really didn't pay much attention to old Farm U but with the recent accolades of their super stars including T.A "Touchdown Anytime (inFlag Football)" McClendon, Chuck "Man Boobs" Amato, Julius "I play in the NBDL!!" Hodge, and Philip "I ride the pine 2 years after being drafted #4" Rivers, we (UNC) have decided to make this an honorary rivalry (and exciting) game. (really who else would they have Wake Tech? Meredith??). We owe it to them after they let us win the last 5 games and 3 football matches. I look forward to this game because yes they are ranked above us this year which I am sure makes history and we did encourage our top 7 players to leave last year so as to make this year more interesting and not just run away with every game again. And of coure I wish the Wolfpack the best of luck!!

Anyway here is some reading material to catch up about the game:

What is your house worth?

Most of us are becoming old farts now and part of the requirement of being an old fart is looking to buy a house/condo/townhouse/shack/what have you. I have jumped off the deep end and began looking too. I found this interesting website that lets you price your home or future home or get comparable results. You can see what those homes are worth, what the homes around it go for, what they have in them, tax value, and adjust it for the features your home has to see what it is really worth. For example I have been checking out 407 E Franklin St, Chapel Hill, NC 27514. It might be a little bigger than I need but it should suit my needs.

The memories.....

For those that were there, this is an awesome reminder

The first of two great nights

I'm back

After a recent stint in Hotlanta and a short(blurry) evening in Athens I am back in the Chapel Thrill/Carrboro. Great times, great people, and great beer. Doesnt get much better. The weather has been great since I have been back but it is suppose to be chilly this weekend. Hopefully it will get really really cold and we can finally get some snow. As some of you may or may not know, Presidents day is on Monday which means it is a bank holiday so if anyone wants to have some fun Sunday night let me know. For those outside the Research Triangle, we would love to have your company Friday or Saturday. In other news, only a month and a half until Flag Football in the Queen City. Holla Back

Sports

Hello and a happy Monday to all! First of all, I would like to congratulate Bill Cowher (NC State Grad), the Steelers and their fans for a Super Bowl Championship season. A special congratulations goes out to all of those people that all of the sudden became Steelers fans. They would have never been able to make it this far without you. I know there are a lot of Steelers fans across the nation, but it made me laugh to see all these new Steelers fans that have "always been a Steelers fan" or "grew up watching the Steelers", etc. Anyway.

As we say goodbye to the NFL season, I would once again like to congratulate the Panthers on a hard-fought season full of ups and downs. A season that ends in the NFC Championship game is something to be proud of.

Now that the NFL season is over, the sports focus shifts to College Basketball. So far, Duke has been able to ward off ACC challengers to remain undefeated in conference. Not far behind are the Wolfpack of NC State at 7-2. The Pack have an important game this week at a tough Miami team that is 6-3 in conference (Wed. 7pm). The Tarholes are holding steady at 5-3 with a big matchup this week, hosting the Dukies (Tues. 9pm). The rest of February is littered with crucial games and important matchups as we press forward towards the greatest time of year, MARCH MADNESS!!!!!
